A great advantage of living in Norwich is that you are never too far from a beach. With so many beaches to choose from, here's a few of our favourites.
Winterton beach has a vast stretch of soft sand enclosed by sand dunes. It has an uncrowded and open feel to it. It's neighbouring beach is Horsey, a popular destination in the winter when the Seals arrive in their masses. The village itself is very quiet, there is parking at the top of the dunes and has a cracking little cafe no bigger than shed.
Holkham beach was recently voted 'Best Beach in the UK' in a survey of travel writers. It is best known for for its stunning panoramic beach and its varied wildlife found on the salt marshes. It is a dog friendly beach and at times you may see horses galloping along the shoreline. There are no concrete buildings or sea defences, just untouched golden sand surrounded by pine woods.
Wells is very attractive town on the North Norfolk Coast. Wells provides opportunities for great food, good pubs, sight-seeing, bird watching and family fun. There are also some great little shops too along the quay that are perfect for wandering around. The Wells Harbour Railway is also great fun if you want a ride around on a historical steam engine.
