The UK and US throw away nearly 550 millions straws away per day. A standard plastic straw takes around 200 years to break down into toxic particles that end up in the ocean.
At Abode we don't use straws (we're usually drinking straight from the Prosecco bottle at staff parties) but we do use paper. According to research the average office worker in the UK uses up to 45 sheets of paper per day and a staggering two thirds of that is considered waste.
With that in mind we've decided to go paperless. As of now we are all using new note taking software. Evernote is a relatively new piece of software where staff are ale to capture, organise and share notes from anywhere. Ultimately it eliminates the usage of paper and is one step closer to having an eco-friendly office.
